Infrastructure & Responsible Growth

James F. Wade, Sr. is committed to ensuring that Charles County grows in a way that is sustainable, strategic, and aligned with the community’s long‑term needs.

• Implement responsible residential development policies, including traffic impact assessments, phased construction approvals, and mandatory developer contributions, to ensure infrastructure keeps pace with growth.

• Apply a structured and transparent decision‑making methodology that incorporates stakeholder input, citizen engagement, and disciplined analysis of alternatives and financial impacts.

• Provide clear public disclosure of the rationale behind decisions made on behalf of the county.

 

Ethics, Accountability & Good Governance

Integrity in government is essential to earning and maintaining public trust.

• Implement and maintain an effective internal control system that strengthens ethical culture and operational integrity across county government.

• Ensure that all employees—including the Charles County Commissioner and members of the Board of Commissioners—uphold high standards of ethics, transparency, and accountability.

• Promote responsible stewardship of public resources and decision‑making that reflects the best interests of the community.

Economic Development & Local Business Advancement

Strengthening the economic foundation of District 3 is essential to creating opportunity and long‑term prosperity.

• Promote commercial development and entrepreneurship through targeted business outreach, improved transportation access, and appropriate tax incentives.

• Measure progress through key indicators such as the number of new business permits issued and the growth of commercial investment over the next three years.

• Support an environment where local businesses can thrive and contribute to a stronger, more diverse local economy.

Education & Public Safety

Partner with the Charles County Board of Education and the Charles County Sheriff’s Office to ensure budgetary resources are aligned with community priorities.

• Prioritize funding that supports safe, well‑maintained school facilities and modern learning environments for students and educators.

• Allocate resources in a way that strengthens community‑based public safety initiatives and supports effective, fiscally responsible operations.

• Ensure that Fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies have access to the technology and equipment necessary to protect residents and respond effectively to emergencies
